I didn't go the route with a compressor style horn, which I'm sure is louder than what I'm about to post. But if anyone else reading this thread is interested in another option that fits behind the cowbell and uses the same hookups, the Fiamm Freeway Blaster Low Tone is a cheap and much louder than stock horn. I found it at Autozone for around 15-20 bucks.
I got a set of Howard's Horns for a present a while back. Put them on my Wide Glide, but had to modify the bracket for them to fit right; they stuck out to far and were hitting my leg. Also, you should put a fuse inline with the horn power. The instructions show wiring right from the battery through the relay to the compressor. If something shorts out, the wiring will burn up. So put a fuse inline.
Anyway, they work well, but after a while I didn't like the way they really looked on my bike, so they're sitting in my garage. If anyone were to make me a fair offer, I'd go ahead and sell them.
