Default Kickstand danger

My friend has a WG that after he lowered it and put a wide rear tire tire on it, the kickstand is dangerously close to the ground. He also has to lean it to the right in order to swing it down.

He was asking if you guys had any fixes for this.

I just did a kick stand mod. Do a search. There is a tab on the stand underneath. This tab makes contact with the frame. If you grind off 5mm from this tab it will lower your stand about 1" on the end. If you remove too much material it will not work. 5mm worked for me.

I need to do that mod myself after lowering the front, the bike sits about straight up, everywhere i go i stare out the window checking it.

Hey FUQUA that kickstand mod works well. 5mm is enough. Don't take too much material off.

I just heated and bent mine a week or so ago. Works great except it is now hard to find with your heel when you wanna put the stand down. I hate to have to put one of them damn extensions on it.

Hey Fuqua - love your bike - how much have you lowered the back and the front? are those struts on the back?
