Hey FUQUA that kickstand mod works well. 5mm is enough. Don't take too much material off.
Yeah im gonna do it this weekend, i dont want to heat it for strength and discoloration of the jiffy.....im just gonna take off a little at a time till i have enough thanks.
I have a 2008 FXDL that I lowered and purchased a 1" shorter stand from J&P Cycles. It works great but I had to build my own extension because it was tucked up under the primary so far, I had to search for ti when I wanted to put it down.
very cool - did you fab the struts or are they available somewhere?
I actually got them from Southeast Custom Cycles in Concord Nc. But they are available from in the J&P Cycles catalog. Part # 701-698.....i only found them in the actual book catalog not online.

prolly a dumb question......how's it ride with the struts?
My friend has a WG that after he lowered it and put a wide rear tire tire on it, the kickstand is dangerously close to the ground. He also has to lean it to the right in order to swing it down.
He was asking if you guys had any fixes for this.
Yep that is how mine is, i have to lean to thr right to get it down! Mine is just fine, i have no problems!

Honestly if rides fine to me,most of your suspension goes from the front to the back so the impact from road hazard is absorbed. Unless you hit a major hole or just a huge bump your good.
