Default 06 stator/rotor cont.
Just thought I would post a pic of the stator. As can be seen it is in perfect shape. one thing I wiil note is,in sec. 8-17 of the 06 manual it says that the stator is held by (2) t27 torx bolts. Mine clearly shows that it has (4) bolts not (2).

Now there is the other part. Yes that looks like it is still working good. Don't forget to clean that to. Not with soap & water in the kitchen sink. Try varsol. it will clean it good..

Believe it or not ,on page 8-17 of the 06 manual says " clean rotor and stator in clean soapy water" I will use varsol on the stator , it's kind of a PITA to remove

Varsol is the best when cleaning petro based liquids. I used to run it thru the oil bag on my Ironhead sporty when I had it.

Just use compressed air to dry the varsol out. I never had a problem doing it. BTW, it looks like the fasteners are hexheads not torx. Is that what they are ?

They are (4) 27t torx heads heres another view.

So.......how did I get to 49 years old and never hear of Varsol? Is the NAPA guy going to look at me like I'm crazy if I ask him for it?

Varsol is simply the Exxon brand name for Mineral Spirits.
