Default First impressions of my new Harley

The weather in the PNW was clear yesterday, albeit cold but a good excuse to put a few miles on her. This is my first Harley and am amazed at the torque that the big twin produces. I can see this is going to be a love affair; I get that "damn cool" feeling when looking down at that big black tank and chrome console. I like everything about this bike cept the seat, I have to do something about that soon, probably a cushy solo, my 50 year old back needs all the help it can get. I'm p!ssed at myself, that I didn't buy a Harley earlier, havent been on a bike with a motor in nearly 30 years, realizing just how much I've missed.

the stock seat gets better with time [breakin] but it takes about 3000 miles to get noticably better, you might not want to wait that long.

Stock Seats and Suspension on Sportsters Suck... Progressive Shocks and a Mustang Seat cures that quickly can ride for hours in comfort ...

Congrats man...I know the feeling too. I finally got my first Harley at 56, been riding off and on over 40 years all metric bikes. I was pleasantly surprised how well my Street Bob performs and handles. All it really needs is better/firmer fork springs.

My only regret is that I waited so long to finally get Harley.

Enjoy your new ride.

I love my FXDC more and more ever time I ride it.

Regarding the seat, you might want to send it to Mean City and let them work their magic on it. The Wide Glide seat I got for my bike is going to them next week for the full memory foam makeover.

Was going to buy the Iron, what a cool bike, I gave into peer pressure from a few buddys that said to get the big twin, I didnt fit the smaller bike really well anyhow.
