I did notice that at 70 mph in 5th gear the mirrors got clear and it felt like I was gliding along(sort-of).
I then went to 6th gear at right about 80 mph CLear mirror and very smooth. It seems that right around 3 grand everything gets smooth.
I've rid mine of about 75% of the vibration by snugging that top motor mount. My bike has almost no vibration over 30 mph and over 2500rpm. At 70 it very smooth.
Read all the good info you guys sent along and went out for a 200 mile, more analytical test ride today.
Vibration is definately related to engine speed! Wrap it tight in fourth, fifth or sixth and it starts to buzz.
Did some highway riding to see if it stopped at a bit of overspeed, ran up to about 80 with no relief.
1000 mile checkup this Wednesday, see what the dealer has to say.
Mine would start to vibrate around 2500 and smooth out at about 3200. The Dyna is not a counter balanced engine. You are going to get some vibration in that range.
The dealer did an alignment on the motor mounts and it did help. Someone on the forum did a shim of the front mount bolts that helped him. I am thinking of trying that.
There is also an isolated top support that is suppose to help. Haven't talked to anyone who has used that yet.
