I have a 06 Sportster which I like. It vibrates a bit at 65mph and then 75 mph. I know all motos vibrate at certain rpms. Will a 07 Dyna vibrate less, more or the same. I guess the 6 speed will help lower rpms and maybe less vibration. I have owned BMWs (R65,R75,R100 and 2 K75s). Don't want a BMW. Been there done that. Curious about the vibration difference between the two HD motors on the Dyna and Sportster.
the dyna is much much smoother than the sporty. i could not see out of my mirrors at highway speeds on my sporty. no that way on the newer dyna's at all. they really obly vibrate at idle .
I also have a sportster and believe me its like night and day! Like Voyager says I aslo cant see whats in the ole sportys mirrors if I tried. I did find out that on the sporty at 4th gear at 60 it was smooth and that 5th gear at 68 ish it smooths out. The Dyna is no different in that regard as they too have sweet spots in every gear that she smooths out. For My Bob I have noticed a smooth spot in Every gear :
1st: 20
2nd: 30
3rd: 42 ish
4th : 50
5th: 60
6th : around 68 on mine
But even when your not in that " sweet spot " the Dyna doesnt Vibrate like my Sportster. Its pretty smooth all the time and I can tell whats behind me in my mirrors. I do have a mechanical feeling to the bike but I like it and its not annoying at all.
I had a 97 sporster, bought a 2006 wg this summer and could not believe the difference! I did pick a vibration at certain rpms after the stage 1 but nothing like sporter was. Smooth as glass on the interstate.
