For my 09 fxdc i was going to put on python slip ons. My dad runs them on his sportster and they sound really good. Bad news dealer told me they would be out of stock till may. They told me they could get ether rush or cycle shack slip ons. I was going to run the Baloney Cut. Which of thoes two would give me the closest sound of the pythons. If it would'nt matter ether way they told me cycle shacks would be cheaper. Also should I spend the extra money and put the SE stage 1 air filter on here as well? They told me it was not needed for slipons. Thanks
Either of those vendors is going to okay if you can't wait for Pythons. Maybe look somewhere else for them.
You don't need the Stg. a/c for the slip-ons, but if you put it on, then you will need to remap your bike and from the MoCo, that's 150 bucks. Take it from me, had I known that, I would have saved my money till I could afford a PCIII or V, then bought the a/c and tuner.
My opinion that the 150 buck remap from HD is not worth 150 bucks. 50..... maybe.
The Cycle Shacks are cheap, but loud. I would go for a set of used slip ons, that way you don't spend too much if you decide to go for a full exhaust or different slip ons later on and if not you didn't spend alot. The SEIIs are a good performing and sounding slip on.

I went with the Cycle Shack slipons, because I heard them on another Dyna at the dealer and I like the way they sounded. They are loud, but not so loud where they will hurt your ears!! You can't beat the price of the Cycle Shacks...I think I paid around $160.00. You can get them cheaper. You dont' have to, but I also did the Stage I, with SE AC and PCIII and had it dyno tuned.
I got mine from Rob's on ebay. $249 shipped free. They had them here in 3 days. They ship priority mail.
I am very happy with them. I had cycle shack's on my sporty and they sounded tinny as well as real loud. I love the way the python3's sound.
Thanks for the info guys. So the cycle shacks are loud but tinny soundling? Tinny like a two stroke? Also I was under the impression that with slipons and a air cleaner you didn't need anything like a fule pack. The HD dealer last year put slipons and SE stage one on my dads 1200 sportster and said it did not need a fule maper like the fule pack.
