Default Shortshots concern

So I ordered a PC IV, the quite baffles for my shortshots and a Big Sucker A/C today. I took my heat shields off so I could install the quite baffles quickly when they arrive and notices the front pipes chrome plating is bubbling. I think it is just a visual problem. Does anyone know if there are any known problems with this issue? See pictures below

I think that's what the heat shields are for. I can't see it causing any "problem".

I'm no tech but could that be a symptom of the engine running lean over a period of time? Wouldn't the engine run very hot and eventually may cause the bubbling the OP is experiencing?

Yes it is under the heat shield. I am assuming it is from the engine running lean. Hopefully the PC IV will solve that problem. The pipes have been on there for approximately one to two months.
