Default Clutch life?

How many miles can I plan on getting out of my clutch. I never had a bike long enough to wear one out. I got 16000 on the one I have now and it still seems solid. I have a friend who has 53000 on a springer softail with the original clutch. I thought that his bike being on the original clutch for that long was pretty darn good.

I have 13,000 on mine and it's fine. Clutch longevity is going to be different for everyone based on how they ride and luck (ie. no parts failures).

you know i hate answering these kinds of questions as i feel as soon as i say ah i got this many miles that the next time i ride the dam thing will go out. But i got 25,000 on mine and seems fine goes with anything you do burn outs hole shots and run the living **** out of it and don't change the oil reg. Probably not long.

Now on that subject what is the cost in materials not labor for a clutch?

This is a question I have been wondering myself. I ride though rushhour in Los Angeles traffic ( I am always on and off the clutch while lanesplitting), and I assume this will have an effect on the life span of the clutch, right?

My clutch went out after about 13 months (5000) miles or so. I had to bite the bullet and repace it with a Barnett. No problems since.

Good question,I suspect that high mileage touring riders will get longer clutch life than you or myself(hard rider on back roads) but we bought them to ride.I don't do burnouts or slip my clutch to excess. My rear tires are worn out at 5000 miles because of my heavy throttle hand.Another question would be which lasts longer:stock or aftermarket?

73k miles on mine in the Road King and only had to adjust it once. 53k miles on the original in the Ironhead and still going strong.
