Let me get everyone's opinion on this -- I'm thinking about going in an entirely different direction on my 2008 Street Bob -- no paint at all! Anyone remember that rockin FXR from the movie Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man? I'm thinking about going that route. Strip all the paint off to the bare metal, then maybe hand paint "Harley Davidson" on the side and shoot it with clear to stop the rust.
Right now it is vivid black. I've got one or two mods left to do first, then I'm thinking of stripping her down to the bare metal.

this is SUPER easy to do... get some air craft stripper and let it do the work... then prep up your tins to how you want them to look (polished, brushed, rough... your call)
take that to the local powder coater and have him lay some 150% gloss clear over them all... will stay looking just like that and you will never tell there is clear on them till you touch it! super easy to do! if i did not have dents all in alot of the cafe tanks i build i would do the same...

I think this would be awesome. Absolutely freakin awesome. Love that movie, love that bike. I thought of doing the same but didn't know how to do it correctly. Sounds like jrk has it figured out.
My vote is for the gun metal. I love that green but something bout it doesn't look right on a Dyna. I think it would be killer on say a Sucker Punch or Flyrite bobber.
That gun metal just looks killer with your wheels. I'd throw some flake it it to really make it stand out.
