I don't care for the "looks" of a windshield on my Dyna, but after installing a HD low profile QD windshield, it has SPOILED me. I still have some wind buffetting, but after a few adjustments to the shield, it's not nearly as bad as the constant wind force on my upper body without the shield.
Might be I'm just gettin' old and I'm outta shape, but I can ride all day with the shield on and not be fatigued...the only thing hurtin' is my *** riding an hour and a half or more with the Silouette seat, lol, but that's off topic.
I have the HD quick detachable ws...no way I would take a long, fast run without it...I dont give a rats *** if anyone thinks it looks un-cool or not...

Same here! Took me 50 years of stubborness to give it a try. Now, if I'm out on the road, so is the Low profile QD W/S.
I choose not to ride with a windshield cause I don't like them in front of me. If you are wondering about getting a windshield, do so. You will more than likely benefit from it. There are benefits in regards to stopping debris and fatigue, takes away from the experience if you ask me. One thing though, If I had to ride long distances at over 75 mph, I would probably want one for that occasion.
Yeah, I wish the poll had a 'sometimes' option. On rides up to a couple of hours, no - but for longer rides, cold, rain, lotsa wind, it makes a big difference. I don't think a windshield looks bad, which is the most common objection I hear. Regardless, I stopped caring about the fashion police long ago...
I have one on my bike year round. I ride mine to work everyday. My boss would get pretty upset if I came in with bugs guts all over my shirt. Oh yeah "Love Bug season" is right around the corner.
Be careful, if you put one on you might not take it off. I use a quick detatch low profile because I hate looking through a windshield but I never take it off. Even in the summer it dramatically cuts the wind noise so I can hear the bike and not trash my ears with the wind. On long trips it's a lifesaver. Does not look as good but I'm too old to care.
