Windshield or No Windshield: That is the Question

I've been thinking about getting a Memphis Shades Rio Grande.
Opinions?

If I'd wanted a windshield, I'd have bought a car.

Driving in Washington DC, yes. All that debris that comes from trucks and kicked up by cars, you need one.
I wear a 3/4 and 1/2 helmet w/ eye protection. Gravel hitting your face sucks.

Yes. If you get the right one. Aero Shield's fit right between the apes, see mine below. It is a 14"x14" with 13" apes. Still get all the wind you want, but not pushing you back in the chest constantly on the highway.

I got over the looking "cool" syndrome. I put the compact HD detachable shield on and I can have the best of both worlds. It greatly reduces fatigue on long rides and I am quite satisfied as to how it looks. Don't give a hoot what others think anyway. You can always take it off on those hot summer days.

Find a windshield that blends in with the style of your bike. Ya, it looks better w/o, but it increases the rideability of the bike (at higher speeds) so much I never take mine of anymore.

Im with dfredb, I'm (almost) over 'cool' and 'uncomfortable' (not to the point of an Ultra but....)

I don't like the look of windshields on a Dyna but sometimes they are neccessary like on long rides. I have a Rio Grande shield and think it actually looks pretty good for a windshield. I rarely use it but it is good to have when I do need it.
