The wife bought a pair of the HD detachables for her Low Rider; yeah, they were spendy but they look like they were made for the bike, carry a bunch and it's nice to click 'em off and take 'em up to the room when we're on the road (like I do with my T-Sport bags) She's not fond of the re-located turn signals; I'm going to try a turn signal bar from a Road King Custom. I see HD has a docking hardware cover kit (chrome caps) I'll have to find out if they'll work on our Dyna's.
Harley hardsided OEM leather bags are expensive but in my humble opinion, they look much better than most of the aftermarket bags. With Barebacks from Cycle vision, they come right off and just leave a chrome cap behind.
If you want to save money get some cheap bags that fit without all the signal relocator crap and get some saddle bag guards. They will scuff the paint unless you pad the underside of the saddlebags with some felt or fleace. I put mine under the rear seat and over the fender but I punched a hole for the front seat bolt so they don't slide side to side. Pictures in gallery.
My opinion is HD charges way to much for stuff and then you have to buy more stuff so the other stuff works after spending all that money on the bike in the first place.
