Default When to slap on new pipes

I've heard two different things from two different dealers. I'm looking to buy a new Fat Bob and want to put an aftermarket exhaust on. V&H , Martin Bros or whatever. Question is, can I put them on a new bike or should I break the bike in first. One dealer said, no problem, we'll slap them on before you take delivery the other said no break it in first. Who's right?

I had new pipes (and stage 1 a/c) from day 1 - dealer installed. And so did most of the folks I ride with.

Thanks. I really didnt get a good reason why the one dealer thought I should wait to break the bike in first.

It shouldn't matter as long as you have the correct fuel management system/map installed as well.

Think about this, CVO bikes come with SE air and exhaust before break-in... so do customs. I would bet any dealer that tells you to wait is just trying to protect the sale... Till you leave the property with the bike, you can back out at any time and don't owe anyone.

Dont see why you shouldn't. just do it, i didnt wait at all i had my pipes before i even bought my bike. the day i bought it the bike look totally different in a matter of few
hours. You dont have to wait for break in.

+1 I changed pipes and A/C and installed SE race fueler within the first week.
