How to remove throttle grip?

How to remove throttle grip?
Does anybody have step by step throttle grip removal instructions? I have the manual but doesn't really say how to separate the upper from the lower housing, just says remove screws and unhook ferrule and cable. I removed the screws but can't seem to get to the ferrules. Must be anothe step. Thanks for any help.

Did you slack off the throttle cables? it'll be pretty tough to get them off if you forgot that step.

Thanks, I did loosen the throttle cable and it helped. But getting the upper clamp out of the way is tuff. I finally got the tips of my fingers in far enough to pull the ferrules out. New grips look good.
