Belt Guards ???

Belt Guards ???
I have been seeing alot of bikes running with out the upper and lower belt guards installed, it looks sweet! Are there any issues to be concerned with by doing that?? Thanks

I took mine off then put them back on after noticing that the pulley looked like it was getting abraded from road sand/dirt. To clean it up a bit I altered the lower belt guard. I matched the radius of the pulley, trimmed the bottom so its level with the bottom of the belt, and cut out some of that triangle.

I live in a rural, sandy area. I've been running no belt guard for close to 10k miles. I haven't had any issues. I do inspect the belt once in a while for wear and it seems to be fine.

WS6, thanks for the tip. I think im just going to keep an eye on it for a while and see if it starts to wear.

Go right ahead, wish i could say that i was the first to think of it.
It's a good idea to put rubber washers on either side of the bolt to protect the cover from scratches and to keep water out of the electrical box.
