Default Not so east brackets

I just installed the easy bracket posts on my wifes Street Bob. When I tried to put the bracket on it was way to tight. I had alot of trouble getting the bracket back off. All the parts to the kit are there and installed. I tried to loosen them tighten them, tried everthing I can think of but they are still to tight. The kit did not come with any more spacers, and I know I installed the posts right?? I left a mesaage for the tech department. Cant think of any thing else I could have done wrong? Has anyone else had this problem? I did try a thred search but all I found are comments about them, not problems people had. Thanks

There should be holes thru the brackests where the bolts are. Did you try installing the brackets with the bolts loose? Then tightening the bolts? That's what I had to do on one side. The other side was fine.

I have them on my FXDF no problems here. Maybe they sent you the wrong kit.

I had the opposite problem with mine they were too loose and rattled to beat all hell but the solution could be the same. Get some washers and experiment with putting them under one post at a time. Sounds like your posts have enough off set to make them tight you can reduce that off set by adding spacers on one post or another.

This is what I had to do. With the docking posts already mounted. slip the bracket on the front post only, Rest the back of the bracket on top of the rear docking post. If it doesn't look like they line up perfectly, give the back of the bracket a slight push in or our to bend the bracket until the back lines up.

I'm not saying this will sold you're problem, but it solved mine.

Holy crap it worked!!! Thanks Man. Who would have thought that you would have to bend a bracket thats supossed to fit to make it work.

Mine rattled like hell too. I used shim washers to correct it.
