Real basic question, that confirms me as an idiot.
I am replacing my stock spark plug wires with the red screaming eagle wires. Here is my question...
Is there any way to undo the two clips on the top of the long wire (just above the horn) without destroying them, or should I just go conan the barbarian on them and go pick up some new plug/zipties from Harley?
This is for the 09 fxdf if that really makes a difference, although I don't think it does.
i cut mine and used zip ties... ICECAPS did a great how to in the 50 mod thread of a cool way to hold wires, check it out... looks awesome! that is what i did, tried to save it at first then said SCREW IT!
I just cut mine off and laid the long one on top of the horn for now. I am looking for a way to hold them again, i will be checking that thread thanks joe.
I pulled the clip nubs out of the holes, (took a bit of force and some pliers).
(If you do this be careful not to chip the paint, simply place a towel over any exposed areas as when you pull the pliers you may have it release quickly and chip some paint, chrome, etc... Just put something over the area of the bike for protection.)
I then I ran the wires into a clamp as a guide,(it is not crimped on the wire). I then attached this to the horn mount. I used an old break line clamp that I reamed out a bit with a cordless drill to fit the horn bolt opening.

Cheers,
Tom
