Default Rocker cover

how easy is it to remove the rocker cover..i would like to polish them...
do need to remove the tank. do i need gasket....thANKS for the help and time..

you will need gaskets. Top one is easy to do, bottom one more involved. Get your service manual out and read through it. Don't have the manual... get one.

BOB, not all that difficult. Take your time.

Easier with tank off.
Easiest with motor on the bench.

Manual is good,
and there are more than a few postings here discussing the removal operation.
I don't know where they are though.

Post pix when you're done.

i polishes my wheels and people think that my
wheels have been chrome.... thanks again ...

Easier with the tank off but can be done with it on.

Top covers are easy and doesnt take much time. The bottom covers are alot more work and as others said I recommend a service manual.

not all to bad to do. if you have a fatbob i bet you could make a real good trade off with someone with polished rockers.
and yes you will need gaskets. also torque wrenches and all the normal tools. just take you time.
