If I was going to be doing the type of riding or two up that required all that extra storage/comfort, I would have bought a different bike. With that said, all of those bikes look GREAT!! You all get extra credit for putting it all together so well!!
I understand the point you are trying to make... But the thing is if I'm going to be doing most of my riding close to home or on short runs and occasionally ride two up with the wife and go out of town for a weekend I think this is the perfect set up...IMO

Don't get me wrong either. I maybe having this setup on only about 5-10% of the time, otherwise, it's back to normal form. Some don't ride 2 up or care about the riders comfort. I do.
I can only aford one mortcycle so I do the same thing. I bought 3 sets of detachable side plates and ghost brackets and it only takes minutes to change it to what I need.
Everything still works with the bobtall fender.
