Derby Cover
Greetings All,
I just picked up the wrinkle black derby cover with gasket for my Bob. I have the service manual on order. Do I need to use permatex on this gasket or is this a straight up installation. Remove old gasket and put new one on? Thanks.

The wrinkle black phinned derby cover uses a different gasket then the stock derby cover. Sorry don't have the part number here. Did you get the new one, or a direct replacement phor the stock one?

Don't overtighten the wonderful torx screws on the derby cover when you install it. If they get stripped, they can be removed, but it's better not to overtighten them and use a little anti-seize while you're at it.

Be careful removing the existing bolts. I found mine to be overtorqued from the factory. Stripped out four of the five and had to drill the heads out. Use a quality Torx socket if at all possible.

I think you will find that the Torx screws are 27 even though a 25 will fit. If you use the 25 you are probably going to strip the heads.
Also it hasn't been mentioned yet, but make sure the bike is upright and not on the side stand or you wil lose the primary fluid.
