Default Seat Options - Fat Bob (Please Advise)

Bought an 09 FatBob and love it , but after about an hour of riding the inside of my thighs become fatigued and ache. I then decided to by some new larger foot pegs thinking this would help, but it didn't. I though that maybe due to being a big guy 275 lbs maybe i needed peg extensions to move my feet further apart from the frame of the bike. This has helped some but i believe it's the seat. I feel that the stock seat moves me to close to the tank and i need a seat that would move me farther back from the tank even if its a solo seat. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Anybody else have this problem?

I was hurtin' after just 100 miles with the stock FB seat (I'm 6ft, 250). I went with the Mustang Vintage Wide solo with separate passenger pillion. I'm real happy with the comfort of the seat and with the ability to switch between solo and 2-up in seconds.

Of course, as with questions about pipes or oil - be prepared to get lots of opinions.

Hope you find a seat that fits!

Even though it's ugly as sin, the Sundowner seat is very comfy. I have one on my WG. You can find some decent prices on ebay if you keep your eye out.

Mustang Daytripper in the Sportster version moves you quite a bit back from stock, so I imagine the Dyna version probably does to?
Not as comfy as the Vintage though.
The general consensus is the stock Fat Bob seat is pretty good for a stock seat so you might be able to get a bit more than average take off seat price for it on E-Bay to off set the cost of your new seat.

Buy a thigh master!!! LOL that is a joke, however it has some truth to it. You don't say if this is your first bike or if you haven't ridden in a while. The fatigue is from holding you legs in while the wind is pushing out. I imagine if your are taller this problem is enhanced. Crash bar with highway pegs that let you stretch all the way out should help. Other than that lots of riding or working out your inner thighs will help.

I had the Mustang Vintage Solo on my 1200C, with the detach passenger pillion, and I absolutely loved it (as well as my wife). The stock FatBob seat has been fine for me, but I haven't been on any real long rides yet. My wife is very impressed with how much better the FXDF rides, but she really wants a new seat after the first 20 minutes on it. Thinking about doing the same with my new 09 FatBob as well, but I want to see it up close first and see how it looks.

Ratbob - Got any closer pics with the passenger pillion on and off?

Maybe because I rode a V-Rod for a few years, I think the stock Fat Bob seat is pretty good. The stock V-Rod seat is not confortable but I kept it. When bought the Fat Bob, I thought was in heaven with the comfort of the seat.

I think different foot pegs did it for me, on the V-Rod anyway. When replaced the stock pegs with some Kuryakan (sp) that had stirups, it made a huge difference.

The stock pegs on the Fat Bob are narrow and I think something larger would make a big difference.

On the last note, I do have a gel seat topper that I use on the V-Rod and it helped a great deal, haven't tried it on the Fat Bob yet.

I agree that the Fat Bob Seat pushes you to far forward, I traded mine with a forum member for a Badlander seat, perfect fit, but hard as a buckboard...LOL
I have a Mustang VIntage 2 up for the longer trips, I can only do about 150 miles on that badlander before my **** begins to ache
