Here's a solution I'm trying...haven't had an occasion to try it at 80, but 55-60 seems an improvement. With the 'shield clamp raised up atop the upper tree, it opens up a big wind-hole between the headlight and the 'shield. A friend suggested I might pick up another 'shield cross-bar to mount across the lower set of bolts, and then move my 'shield-bag to this new lower crossbar, thereby "plugging the hole". My post is toward the bottom of this thread....

I will try the tool bag on the fork - makes sense. Any one suggest where to buy these without going to Harley Stealer?

Foxcreek makes some really nice ones, well priced. http://www.foxcreekleather.com/toolbags.phtml

I recommend the 12" if you're mounting to the lower triple tree. Maybe the 10" or the 12" if going for the handlebar/riser placement.

Speaking of buffeting, of a differant sort. My brother and I were riding down A1A headed into Daytona late at night and he start wobbling down the road. WTF? Slow down and stop so we can talk and see what's wrong. He hit a sea gull, it bent the windshield way back and when it rebounded he started having a heck of time keeping the bike under control. I don't use a windshield and hate to think what would have happened to me had I been the one that hit it.

Just keep moving the windshield around for the way you want to sit that day
