Default help. sears yellow jack

bought a sears yellow jack and I am not real happy with it. It takes two people to get the jack under the bike because the jack hits the kickstand.Any ideas on how to make it work easier?

Is that because the bike sits too low, or are you saying it just takes two to get the jack under the bike?

I've got the yellow harbor freight jack, no problems with it.

The bike is stock height. I have my girl hold the bike up cause I need to put the kickstand up so the jack will go under. You can see in the pic that the lift has cross members. That is what hits the kickstand.

You can sit on the bike and wheel it under with your right arm. Start to jack it up until it begins to lift the bike, but the bike is still slightly supported by it's own wheels. That's when I get off the bike, walk around and finish jacking it up the rest of the way.

It's a little cumbersome but with a little practice it can be done. The hardest part is getting the adapters lined up and centered on the jack arms.

I measured those damn adapters the other day. I think I might take some hard wood and plane them off at the same height of each adapter piece, then lag bolt that to the Sears Yellow Jack. it'll be easier than messing with the adapters -- it's a real pain in the ***. Kind of like permanent adapters bolted to the jack so I don't have to line all that crap up anymore.

What if you install a wheel chock to hold the bike upright? You won't need the 2nd pair hands any longer.

Take those pcs. off, and then you are going to need a lift adapter kit #98965-99, or just use a couple of 2x4 and a 1x2 to clear the oil pan, put kickstand up while you straddle the bike, slide jack under, and jack up while you sit on it, make sure all is well, get off bike and continue.

I hold my bike up by holding onto the left grip, and move the jack under with my right foot, get it where I want it, and start jacking. No problems....

Guess I'm not sure what you're asking.... the jack does go under your bike with the kickstand up... right?

Ok, since I was finally in the area of a Sears today and remembered that I could definitely use a jack I got the red one. Didn't make sense to me to spend $45 more on the yeller one. I found no issue with jacking the bike up by myself. I should have hit the dealer which was just a minute from the Sears for the adapters but oh well. I'll take a ride down there tomorrow. Maybe having 16" apes makes it a little easier to stand the bike up, while jacking with my leg. This has been one tool I've been struggling without. It was so nice jacking the bike up and being able to clean the wheels entirely. They really needed it. They'll require more tlc but didn't want to stick my g/f with baby duties all night.

i got the sears craftsman red one, my bike is lowered 1", i pull my back wheel on a 2x6 and slide the jack in from the exhaust side with kickstand down, no sweat. oh and i made risers out of wood for yhe jack instead of buying the dyna adapter.
