It has been this way basically since the Softail line was introduced. They became the must have bike, and they were the bikes that the big name customizer crowd was producing. Now, when you start talking about the performance crowd (drag race, etc...) they tend to like the FXR frame because is puts more HP to the rear wheel than any other frame Harley ever made (less frame flex). The Dyna and Sportster are close seconds in that department while the Softail is far behind.
Primo makes one... hell there are several companies out there that make them...all high $$$$.. any reason you want the meat grinder? or is it the dry cluch... you can kiss that soft pull clutch good bye cause i am pretty sure they only make 5 spring opens... better start building that forarm... a 3 spring is not bad... it is def something i would like to do way down the line but mainly for ease of maintance as well as it just looks sinister!
Did the Sportster to Big Twin trade 3 weeks ago today. After doing research for weeks I finally decided that the Dyna's were the best value for me. Bought a FXDC and love it although I think I would have also loved a Nighttrain or Rocker C.

I could live with a Nighttrain as an option if all the dynas went away tomorrow. The Rockers have zero appeal to me. They all look too plastic, which is an shame because they could have made a great bike but they missed it IMHO. I do like the Cross bones though...
