Angry Dynas and Softails

I've been on this board a while and really like the Dyna forum, lots of good info and people here. I've noticed one thing since I first owned my Dyna Street Bob and that's when search for items/mods for it all I come up with is freakin Softail stuff, like the Dyna is second class and everyone rides a Softail. Is it me or does it not seam there are more items for Softails than Dynas? I've been looking for a Open Belt Drive for my FXDB and really coming up short. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Mike

I would guess over the last 10 years, HD has sold more softtails than Dynas. Probably a lot more.

It's no where as bad as it used to be...it REALLY used to be bad. Dyna's are catching up. Harley finally got their buts in gear and improved and promoted the dyna line couple of years back and custom part availability followed.

This concern comes up every now and then. I've asked the same question myself not long ago. It's not your imagination, there seems to be TWICE as much after market and Harley made bolt on products available for Soft Tails than Dynas. The assumption that they historically sell more ST's than Dynas is probably right BUT it doesn't make them better bikes!! It CAN make a Dyna owner feel a little second class but the fact is most Dynas out perform Soft tails so we get more performance for less cost. WE know how good our bikes are and the more people discover how great dyna's are and buy them the more the aftermarket will grow for them!

Yeah, definitely a helluva lot more softails around here then Dyna's for sure. But it seems a LOT of people are using the sportster promotion to trade up to a Dyna. So I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more Dyna's.
