good point 2007fxdc. Your bike is sort of what I envisioned mine looking like eventually. How comfotable is the barebones seat? looks bad *** but thin.
It's strange to be honest. It's actually quite comfortable for 45 minutes to an hour and then my butt starts to feel it all of a sudden. It isn't a touring seat, that's for sure. But I like the way it looks and how it sits - puts me more in the bike than on it. You can buy them with gel pads inside - not sure how much better they are with that. I'll usually just stop, walk around for a few minutes, then I'm good to go again.
Can't go wrong with either one as you will add and changes things to your liking anyway. Like a painter or sculptor, you have to envision what you want your masterpiece to be or look like after you use your credit card abundantly. Just find the color you want at the best price knowing you won't be getting much of a deal, especially at this time of year.
I went with the FXDC for the chrome, the paint, and the spokes. Like 2007fxdc I added a solo seat. I also added street bob mini ape bars. Best of both worlds.
Both are great bikes. But I like chrome =)
Cheers,
Tom

FXDC was my choice I liked the chrome and i dont mind the grey engine.
I came down to what i didnt have to buy next..
Bobs are nice too i just preferred FXDC
I picked the Street Bob cause it was closest to what I envisioned as the perfect bike for me. I liked the black engine, solo seat (wife won't ride on a motorcycle anyways) denim paint and ape hangers.
You are of course gonna change a few things on the bike so just get the one that is closest to what you envision.
I too like the solo look and the chrome so thought of doing the same thing. Do you have any pics with of your bike with the mustang seat on?
Yes Sir. I took some today, not very good quality but you can get the idea. I put some miles on the new seat and am very impressed, very comfortable but it will take a good long ride to test it completely. I got the back rest and can tell you that will be the lifesaver for my tired back. 30 years in the Fire Dept. has taken its toll.
i would go for the street bob.. I LIKE BETTER a black motor .
..but, both bikes look good...i looked at the super glide custom
before i bought my fatbob...
