Sounds like it might be worth doing, guess I will need to check on VA inspection laws though...frickin Big Brother...
I saw this setup and it made me wonder about doing this mod. Guess you could do it it with dual cables too, but this sure looks clean.
With this style of bar, internal throttle is not really an option.
If you thought "what if" to everything you wouldnt ride at all.
Lubricate and maintain a smooth run on your cables and you wont have any problems.I ve never had a throttle stick in all the years i've been riding bikes.Thats over 30 btw.
Yes. But the main question was just to remove one wire from stock setup i think!?
Ok. I will do it
yea but the theory's the same, internal = 1 cable, take return off = 1 cable was my point. If single cable throttles were dangerous, would anybody fit them ?

The dual cable is a holdover from carburetor days. It's common on many large-displacement four stroke dirt bikes where the vacuum at WFO could be strong enough to hold the slide open.
Given today's EFI technology, the return cable is useless. It's an odd relic in a day where Moco is trying to pinch every penny out of their production lines to maintain shrinking margins.
I want cleaner bars with as few cables as possible, which is one reason I like the WG internal wiring. Removing the return throttle cable would be a step in the right direction. Ultimately, I'd like the fly-by-wire throttle Moco installs on some of the new touring bikes.
