Default Changin' oil tommorow need help!!!

I keep reading about using an old plastic bottle to keep the mess to a minimum, but I can't find any pics!! Does anybody have any pics of how to do this?

Take a 2 liter bottle and cut it in half. slip under the filter before you remove it. Works ok seems to get most of the dripping oil I always seem to get some on the bike anyway. Next time I am going to try putting a hole in to bottom of the filter 1st with a small screw driver to allow some of the oil to drain out before removing it.

Something which has worked well for me is using a zip-loc sandwich bag. Loosen filter just loose enough to be able to turn it by hand, then slide the bag over the filter. Doesn't catch all the oil and mess, but gets 95% of it. Let the oil drain from the mount for a few seconds, zip bag closed, then remove from frame/engine area.

I used tin foil. Sealed it around the housing then took the filter out. dripped on the tinfoil.

I just get some aluminum foil and shape it under the filter. I still get a little mess but it gets most of it.

That right there is the key to near mess free oil changes. I did this last time and it worked. I also use a paint pan for a drain pan, fits nicely under the bike and holds plenty of oil.

putting a hole in the filter and letting drain is key.
