Default Throttle Cables

I just installed new grips on my 08 street bob. In the process I had to pull on and manipulate the throttle cable quite a bit. My question is - Could I of done any damage to the cables by doing this. They seem to work fine now. I don't want git on the road and find out I have a problem. Any info will ease my concern. thank you

As long as you didn't create any kinks or fray or unravel any of the strands in the cable, you should be fine.

If you start to feel any hang-ups or binding, replace.

I may have broke one of the small threads and maybe twisted the cable. I didn't kink it.

if it works it works.... check them to make sure they are all in tackt... you should be fine with what you described ... next time. put the cables on the grip, loosen the bars and move the bars so that it lets the grip slide right on... i have been there man, you should be fine bud!

If I had a broken stand, I would ask around in the forum here to see if anyone had a take-off cable and replace it. If you can't find one here, look on eBay, or just buy a new one at the dealer.

It isn't worth risking it breaking when you are on the road. Even worse, if the broken strand binds and your throttle unexpectedly gets stuck while open.

Spend a few buxks and protect your ***!.
