First let me say I LOVE the blacked out bikes. saint, bosken, sick, etc your bikes are off the hook.
I was plannin` on that for years as I awaited my harley.
First, even there are no blacked out bikes in my area, I would like to do somethin' different.
Second I landed a FXD with the silver motor instead of the bitchen' azz black!
So my question...... anybody seen any examples of all silvered out HD, or any other color(ed) out bike?
Also any colored engine paint other than black or silver been spotted.
Just lookin for ideas here.
The CVO engines are 'Granite' ... not black, but quite a bit darker than the silver. I really like the look of those motors; but, think it extremely unlikely I'll ever own a CVO. Also, the motor exchange program with H-D is generally only for black or silver.
I've seen some bikes with PC colors on the motors like red or orange ... Rockem and Sockem (not sure if the company is still around) used to do that on some of their bikes. Also, I think NYC Choppers has done a few bikes with color motors.
I think it could get pretty pricey ... and unless you have the whole motor/trans/primary stripped down to the cases, you couldn't do it.
I think Rounder may have sprayed his motor black ...? Anyone back me up on that?
