Break fluid on pads = squeak?

Break fluid on pads = squeak?
Last fall when I was breeding my front brakes from changing the cable, I got some break fluid on the pads and the rotor. Ever since I had a slight squeak while breaking. It only happens once in a while and only when I'm about to come to a full stop. Chould this be caused from the break fluid getting on them? I've tried cleaning off the rotors a bunch of times but it's still there.

yes, if you got anything on the pads they are considered contaminated. Replace them.
However, all squeak problems originate from high frequency vibrations so shims on the backs of the pads are the best solution in my opinion.
