I rode a buddys Ultra Classic and it just doesn't fit me. I am 6' 2" and 275Lbs. The floorboards are in the way. I have forwards and it is so much more comfortable. The seat makes you feel like your sitting on top of the bike not in it. I am sure there are ways to make it more comforatable but my thinking is, if I am spending that much more money for a bike it should be pretty comfortable to start with. Everybody says I should get a bagger because of my size....Well that's not gonna happen. I would reccomend that you test drive any motorcycle before buying. Good luck and let's see some pictures after you buy one
You happened to answer another issue of mine because the other bike I am thinking about is a Street Glide. Was wondering if the fairing was too short and would be getting blasted in the face.
Hello all. I am thinking about a Street Bob and have heard alot of "its too small for you" talk. So I was wondering if there are any big guys who ride them and can give me some input on the comfort factor they experience. I know in the end its about the personal experience, but just looking for some feedback to start out with. Thanks in advance.
You can put floor boards, Wide Glide triple clamps, fatter front tire, saddle bags, and Deluxe type fenders on a Dyna. Then your bike will "appear" to be bigger.
I'm cramped on the bigger appearing bikes, floor boards are too close, seats too high (you feel like you sitting on top, instead of in the bike), and handlebars are too low.
Any Dyna with forward controls is a lot more comfortable for a taller rider. If your real tall the Dyna Wide Glide will give you the most comfort, they came with forward controls and the seat sits you a little higher and back giving you the most leg room of any Harley (Night Train, Softail Custom, and the Rocker also have forward controls and may be similar to a Dyna with forward controls).
Well I'm not a big guy but I have a bit to add to this conversation...
I got a CC solo for my 03 low rider (fwd ctrls) and it moved me back at least 2". With the stock seat my knees were bent on the pegs but with the CC my legs were totally straight. At first I didn't think I would be able to ride it that way but after a few miles I got used to it.
My 6'2" friend found my bike much more comfortable with the solo than his superglide with the stock seat (also fwd ctrls).
