Nearly always have it in "N", and always have the clutch in just in case. Some times find out that it isn't in "N". When it is in gear (even with the clutch pulled) the bike seems to pull a bit when I start it. No issues though, don't think it matters which way you do it.
I was under the impression that the newer bikes had to have the clutch lever engaged in order to make the bike start. Mine is an 06 and will start regardless. Maybe I'm wrong....Anybody ?
