Is the fork cap socket size 36mm or sae?

It should be SAE...as I believe the only metric fasteners on the bike are on the brake calipers. Better ask Shovelhead Bob...he will know.

I measured it with a caliper a while ago and couldn't decide if it was 35mm or 1 3/8. I didn't get round to getting a socket to try it. though.

I had the same question with the axle and came to the conclusion that metric sockets were a better fit.

Any wrenches out there know? Is H-D going metric?
