Default Riser help

Has anyone put just risers on their bike? If I put 4 1/2 inch pull back risers on, will I have to get longer cables? Right now I have the stock risers (think 2 inches). Thanks.

You can usually go up 2-4 inches and make the stock cables work. It can also depend on how you postion the bars.

It could be helpful to inform what bike you are writing about.

I put 4 1/2 inch risers on my '09 FXD and only had to pull some wiring from inside the neck frame (you should have just enough 'extra' in there. Pull gently, don't yank!). Front brake line 'seemed' a little too tight at first, but turned out it's fine.

How hard is it to re route clutch cable and re bend the brake lines? Does it require any special tools?

just soft hands man... soft hands... to re route you have to unhook the cable at the grip, then figure out how to run it where you will have the most slack and still get to where you want it... turn bars in both directions to ensure it does not get caught up... good to go
