Default what lenghth risers w/ stock cables-fxd

I'd like to go with some taller risers on my 09 fxd but have no idea what lenghth I can use w/o modifying cables and wires. Also what do I look for when buying risers for the 09. diameter? securing bolt sizes? etc. Does some pull-back make sense? I'm pretty new at this so please bear with me.

I put some 2" risers with 3/4" pull back on my wife's FXD. No other changes needed. (I think they were Drag Specialties) the only thing we didnt like is the mount for the bars was at a different angle and stands the speedometer straight up....... i understand someone makes risers that dont do that, not sure if you can still use stock cables etc...

My WG has 4" HD risers and all the cables were stock.

I have 4" pull back and have plenty of cable. The wiring harness for the speedo is at it's max though.

I was thinking of something like the 4" with some pull-back but what is is about some that causes the speedo to be at an overly upright angle? What should I look out for?

I tried 4" rise/2" pullback risers and there was not enough cable. I could mount the stock speedo butthe wire was way too tight to ride and the speedo was at an angle that was actually past verticle. It leaned toward me. I fabbed up a temp mount for the speedo just to be able to ride it.
