Default Solo seat is on...FINALLY

I finally had a chance, since I'm staying down in Columbia during the week due to new job training, to resolve some small issues that were keeping me from fitting my used Mustang solo seat p/n 76107 onto my WG.

The cause of it not fitting was Jackyl's 3" tank lift. I had to move the tank so far back that the rear tabs on the tank (under the seat) were interfering with the seat being able to fully get into position.

I had initially drill some new holes for the rear mount bolt. Because I didn't do a clean job, today, I had to reem them out with my cordless jigsaw. Yeah, it was real fun. Once I got the holes reemed enough that I could adjust the tank as I needed all was good to go.

Oh yeah..and I also had to flip my risers around because my apes were hitting the tank at full lock. I don't remember the member who came up with that idea the other day but THANKS DUDE. I should have thought of that sooner.

Now i have about 1/8" between the forks and the tank at full lock, no issues with the handlebars hitting and my solo seat is on.

Taken with my "ok" 2mp LG Vu camera phone.

Here is a photo of the risers flipped around for clearance:

Top down view of the clearance between triple tree and tank. yeah, it's close.

Thanks Shawn. It took me about a week to really dig the thunderheaders. Now if I could only come up with the cash to do the cams....(which I have sitting at the house).

Here is another point of view. I like this seat. It's not the wide version.

looks real good, man. I just lifted my tank 2" with jackyl's kit. I didn't have any problems with my bars or risers, though. Its close, but ok.

Thanks. I have a little more rake to contend with on the WG front end. Either way it's not a problem anymore.

Hows the mustang compare in comfort? I've been considering one but was apprehensive about how it would look; but after seeing it on your bike I think it looks killer.

Well, I only rode for about 15 minutes with it on. It's a little stiff but I understand Mustang seats need to be broken in. I had a sundowner 2-up on it previously and will keep it for when my g/f rides with me. I can't afford the matching mustang p-pad just yet. I really wanted the studded version but the plain version was a good used deal so.... I may, weather willing, go for a longer ride tomorrow after work. If not, maybe saturday.

I've been told and read on many threads here that the mustang seats are very comfy. Guess time will tell. I'm sure others who have more saddle time in their mustangs could chime in.
