yesterday I saw a bike like mine, a 2007 FXDL with forward controls, and it had what I thought were harley "airfoil" foot pegs and heel rests. I thought I'd like to do that too, but when I went to the catalog, it says the heel rests won't fit on forward controls. Actually, the part in the picture looks a little different than what was on the bike, I'm not sure now.
Is this do-able? Does it make much difference in comfort? Do they drag in turns??? I'd appreciate any info.
Heel rests are excellent. I have Kurakyn Dually foot pegs and Kurakyn heel rests on my 2007 FXDC Super Glide Custom and I have Harley-Davidson forward controls. The heel rests make a big difference in comfort especially when you are riding 200-300 miles at a clip. Regarding dragging, no the heel rests do not drag. If you lean the bike way over in a turn the end of the footpegs should drag but the heel rests are way inboard of the end of the peg so they are not going to drag.

I had heal rests on my Sportster. I can't remember the brand but I can tell you they were very comfortable. They adjuste to the exact height you want.....and they did not drag in the corners.
Find a set that work on your bike...small price...you'll be happy you did.

I forgot to mention...the Sportster had forward controls. the heal rests worked very well and looked good.
I wasn't sure if I wanted the foot rests as only my right foot was uncomfortable on my '08 FXDC as I wrapped it around the air cleaner so I opted to try a cheap set from JC Whitney ( $44.00 ) shipped. To my surprise they are of pretty good quality and if I only get a couple of years out of them , they will be well worth the experimenting money. If you go this route make sure you locktite the threads or they will "swing".
Just make sure you don't adjust them down too low or they will drag before the pegs. I made that mistake when I first installed them. They're as comfy as footboards.
