Hummm...I always wipe the bike down after every ride, but I'm lazy and never clean the spokes/rims. They are dirty... Does it matter if when using Shout it gets on the rotors? Anything to be careful of when spraying Shout on the wheels?
Shout seems to be the best. I found out about it here in another thread. Mine were caked in brake dust from the previous owners neglect. I also used SOS gently on the more stubborn areas. Now the spokes look like new and all I do is wash them last with the leftover bucket of Mothers car wash.
If the spokes are pitted, the foil won't remove that. Mine were pretty bad too. You can still see slight pitting, but you really have to get down on the spokes to see it. The foil took 100% of the rust off, but once the pitting is into the chrome, there's no fixing that.

I'm not sure if my spokes are pitted or not, but the aluminum seemed to have a minimal affect. When I start rubbing the spokes, I do see some black stuff coming off them, but the spokes look the same. Should I just rub the spokes for hours or do you think they are pitted? I could take a close up photo if it would help. Any help would be awesome because I just got this bike and everything has a gorgeous shine (after some polishing I did myself) except for the spokes... Thanks-
I picked up a couple of dusting wands at the dollar store and use one for the wheels after a ride and the other for in between the engine and frame peices. Been doing that for a couple of years and everything looks new. These are a little over two feet long with a handle and about three inches around but fit in between the spokes and I'm able to do the hub also.
