Anyone please help out here.
I installed my Hooker troublemakers today on my carb'd '03 SuperGlide. It already had SEII slip ons, and Stage one installed before I got it.
Install went smooth, straight forward, but now it won't idle unless it is fully choked, then it will just die out. It then won't start for ****, even got a couple backfires through the carb. Now the battery is dead from trying to start it.
I did take it around the block after it fired up the second time and it seemed fine, not really warmed up (little bit of sputter here and there) got home let it idle for a half minute or so and it died again.
Do I need to re jet the carb or just adjust it??
That exhaust should not flow THAT much more than the SEII's to require a major rejetting. Something else is off kilter...just my humble opinion. The easiest test would be to put the SEII's back on and see if it runs right again.

I agree, shouldn't throw it off like that on a carbed bike. I went from seII's to big radius 2-2 with no problems. seems to have a slightly slower idle but I haven't adjusted the screws.
How is your air intake? It may be needing more air to keep things moving.
I took mine out and it was all gunked up. Replaced it with big air by arlen ness.
I usually ride the first block or so with the choke on half way till she's warm enough to not kill at idle.
Adjust the mixture screw while it is idling to see if that improves anything. Go from there, but i would imagine that should be plenty. I swapped the pipes on the ol' lady's sporty and all I did was adjust the mixture screw a little and it runs like a champ.
Pipes are seated fine, used new gaskets, I torqed 'em down per manual specs, also felt around flanges at start up didn't feel any flow escaping. Didn't hear any either.
Got it on the charger tonight, tomorrow will check air fiilter, adjust carb, maybe check plugs.
If I do need to change the slow jet, what part numbers are the 2 sizes above stock?
Whenever you change the pipes you have to rejet 9 times outta 10. Similarily, when you change the pipes in a fuel injected model you have to change the mapping.
