Im planning on a cam swap for my BOB, I have a screamin eagle race tuner, I have the thunder header, have a kuriakin pro charger intake breather, and all Im really after is a little better mid range, and a better exhaust note. In wyoming I had it dynoed with 87hp as it sits, and I want a little more of course. I want to ditch the crappy factory chain and tensioner, and go gear drive, but I am torn between witch lit to order.
I also dont want to dick with having it re tuned and was told some cams just have more lift, and tuning is not needed, is that true?

I was wondering the same original question. I have alot of warranty left on my bike. Will buying Andrews or Woods and not SE void my warranty?
Only guaranteed way to have hotrod parts and not have warranty problems is to have them installed by the stealer at the time of purchase. Otherwise it's hit and miss.
Which is why I paid the stealership's extortion prices for my stage 3 kit, install, and tune. So there is no question about the warranty.
Just need to check it with a dial indicator for run out. Mine was way out so I had it trued and welded to run gear driven cams! Depending on funds he may cosider stickin with the new chain drive set up...it's alot better than it used to be!
Even if there is excessive run out, im gonna fix it and run the gear drive. I feel safer with that. I run a chain in the stroker in my Demon, but its a Billet gear and spendy chain, handle anything on that engine, my harley is a different deal.
Don't blame ya one bit...I did the same thing, nothin better than geardriven cams! But for those of you that can't afford or don't have the mechanical skills to fix it if ya need to, the new chain set up is pretty damn good!
Im planning on doing all this myself. My buddie has the tools for pressing out the cams, and I have done several cam swaps in bikes, but never a twin cam. All I need is a good cam selected for my application. Nice broad curve, and a good note.
I can trailer it to my dealer and have it tuned

You won't need your buddies tool for pressing out the cams, they slide right out. You will need his bearing tool if you replace the inner bearings though.
