Put True Track on my 98 WG (old but good) and notice more traction on acceleration when riding solo. But the biggest benefit is riding 2-up. Went out tonight on a twisty little road with the wife and ran it 20mph faster than last year with no more 'folding'. She pointed out the difference while we were riding.

I also have the Ricors in the forks. They helped out the front end, no more dive on braking, more predictable on bumps (had to get used to that change)

I don't get paid by either company. They both cost a pretty good chunk. But I have wasted more money fixing crappy cars without any feeling of contentment after. (CV joints, starters, etc.)

just my 2 cents

But when all this talk about the true track came out, I searched the internet for infor about accidents caused from HD's design or lack of a true track. Can't find anything, so..........

I say do you you want and feel confortable with.
Frankjake, you make a very valid point, but I think it boils down to riding style. I for one tend to really push it to the limit at times and that is what I enjoy. The guys I ride with tend to do the same (all former sport bike owners). They all know how my FXDF handles since they have all ridden it at one point. When I first installed the True Track I asked them to go out for a ride and tell me what they thought. I did not tell them what I had done. I wanted to see if it was me or if they also noticed a change. They all noticed it immediately and wanted to now what I had done.

I also have a Jeep and believe that Chrysler would not make a vehicle that was unsafe to drive, but have almost rolled it a few times taking a turn too hot. Just my 2 cents.

I've had it since November and I've been riding it at least weekly (in Georgia) since then, so I'm pretty familiar with it now. My last bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 (weighed about 150 lbs more than the SB). I've never had any problems with curves at speed until about a week ago. I'm not noticing any back-end vibration on the tighter curves, just less stability.

So my question for those of you that got True Track is: How did you know that you needed it? And my question for anybody who thought about it and looked into the True Track but didn't buy it is: Why not?

Much appreciated.

Jim,

I'm selling these so I'm sure you will take my advice with a grain of salt.

I believe you said you have a 09 Street Bob. If so you have the 49mm forks. In stock form they are the softest and least stable forks HD sells, IMO.

If you are after stability that is what our INTIMINATORS are all about. You have one of the easiest bikes to install on.

In case you don't agree we offer 100% money back.

You can do a search "ricor" on this forum to see what other people are saying.

Hi
Some how you came to looking at these so here is my 2 cents! I have ridden many bikes over the years each handles its own way. This is my first harley, and was looking just to cruise around w/ the wife liked the look of the dyna got it for a great price. (was just looking for a harley thats how I have a Dyna) Bike is a 99 fxdx and had soft suspension was sloppy on the freeways (grooves pulled it all over the place) was always correcting in sweeping curves 1 or 2 up. I was not looking to make this a super bike but reading (this site and others) and investigating and talking with vendors I ended up putting on a fork brace, works springs in the fronts and the true track. (rear shocks when I have $) I can tell you that the bike rides way better lost all the dive and feel's better over road bumps not getting pulled all over the road by the grooves in the freeway, and most pleasuerable not having to correct in curvs. Bike got way stiffer not sloppy feeling (yes I checked motor mounts and swing arm bushings as well as alignment first)I'm sure HD manufacture's the bikes the way they do for a reason yes they are safe just like all other manufacturer's. You asked for info here it is and hope it helps. Maybe you can hook up with somebody that has installed them and ride there bike you don't need to ride it like a race bike to feel the diff.
