Default 150 k591 on 2001 superglide

Is it imposible to put a 150 k591 on a 2001 superglide (fxd). WHY? The 2001 fxdx comes equipped with the 150 k591 as OEM. There can't be any diference in fender width, wheel width, belt or pully width. For 2001 the fxd, fxdl, fxdwg and even the fxdx-t all come with the D401 130 on the rear. the fxdx comes with the 150. AM I MISSING SOMETHING??? What are the differences between the rears of 95-01 and 02-05 fxd's??? that won't accomodate anything but a 130. Is it because of the difference in weight ratings of the tires? Is it because the fxdx is supposed to be sport and the others can be use for touring? It seems lame. I just want to go a little wider. I was told that I could maybe fit a 140 and if I went with a metzeler it would look like a 150. dumb. I have searched through all the threads and can't find the answer. If I can't find a legitimate rational why that 150 k591 won't fit on my 2001 fxd when it comes stock on the 2001 fxdx I'm gonna try it. PICS TO COME.

i have a 01 fxdl..came with a d401-130...i have ran a d401-150 for the last 4 years...i had to take a dremmel tool and grind a little of the bolt off on the inside rear ..at the back of the fender, each side..i am now running a michelin 150.it is a little smaller than the dunlop.but the contact patch is a little wider..does that make sense???? it is alot easier with the tire off to do the grinding.i have done it with the tire off...it can be done..alot easier if you have the flex attachment........

the '02 fender may be wider but every one is telling me that the 150 will rub the belt. i have almost 25mm from the 130 to the belt on my '01. a little bolt modification is no big deal. i'm gonna go to dealer and see if fenders from '01 to '02 have different part #'s.
it appears the 150 is gonna fit. unless i'm missing something.

thanx

the 150 will fit ..i just put one on a 99 super glide......i had one on my 01 lowrider...a 2002 has a wider rear fender, wich probably means the frame/swingarm is wider also..i can compare them as there is a 2002 fxdx in the shop i work out of.....

there wasn't a frame change in '02. the 2001 FXDX came with the 150 OEM. is that frame, swingarm or fender different than the rest? probably not. I think its the load ratings that the MOCO are worried about. measure those fenders.
