I really don't like the looks of the thunderheader.
That being said, nothing sounds and performs like a thunderheader.
The video must suck.
I have a buddy with a thunder header. you put it next to my big radius (which I love the sound of) and you can barley hear it. They are load and deep.
It's not your typical Harley exhaust note...but then the Thunderheader is designed for performance first and sound second. If you want performance get em...if you want sound go with V&H.
Don't forget third...... LOOKS they makes lots of power sound awsome but look ...
I love my thunderheaders for it's looks , sounds, and performance , i can't wait to hear it when the baffle starts to blow, it's going to be even a deeper sound !
I've owned several different exhaust systems, I put on the Thunder Headers 4 or 5 years ago, never looked back to any other. Outstanding performance and awesome sound.
I love the way they sound, and the power under the curve for the whole rpm range is good. They sound different depends on what is done to the motor. My friend's bike makes makes a loud cracking sound, and my makes a deep rumble sound.
Don't forget third...... LOOKS they makes lots of power sound awsome but look ...
I must be the only one here, but I like their look better than the D&D, Rinehart, or V&H 2-1's. The D&D is too fat and straight for me and the latter two look like some sort of leaf blower. I like the taper of the reversion cone. And it doesn't help V&H's case with me that absolutely everyone and their brother has one, especially the 2-2 Big Radius.
My neighbor about 3 houses down has a T-Header on his stock 07 Night Train & it sounds great, deep & loud. If I were ever to go back to a 2-1 it would probably be a T-Header.
The looks are relative, some guys like 2-2's better than 2-1's (me among them), nothing beats the looks of the 2-2's specially when it comes to true duals. But the looks of the thunderheaders does not bother me at all, true, I don't prticulary like it when a 2-1 aims upwards, but in my thunderheaders (for softail) that got corrected with a little lowering in the rear end. I get compliments pretty often regarding the sound of the pipes and the guys I ride with are pretty much all over on different exhaust systems.
I have an 07 police demo 103" RK with "thunder max w/ auto tune" and black un-shielded bagger thunderheader. This has been the most +hp bolt on I've ever done on a bike.
When it comes to performance over appearance and sound, I don't care bout the looks or sound much. Tho I am looking for info on baffle mods.
I got at least 20% increase top and bottom (110-115) and big boost in fuel mileage!
