hey, new to hdforum. i'm interested in upgrading my intake but, as the trend seems to be, i'm having trouble finding anything to fit my 09 fat bob. i saw a bob with a sweet intake when i took mine in for service but couldn't ask to see what kind it was. looking to keep to the flat black, any suggestions? thanks.
There are a number of intakes to fit the fxdf. Any one that works on a 09 dyna will work. I just changed mine to a SE heavy breather and I am happy with the look and performance. Rush 1.75 slipons, SE heavy breather, And upgrade to a Performance commander-V. 2008 FXDF. Ride safe Mike.
I believe any intake that will fit on a 06 & up dyna will fit on your FXDF. Since the FXDF is a newer model there are not many aftermarket parts that are listed as fitting it; but they will fit. Search through some of the other Fat Bob owners in this forum and you should come up with some good ideas.

I have that same set up except i use an arlen ness BS instead of the SE.And my PC V should arrive monday I can't wait! Tell me how it felt when you first pulled out with that pc V
O and the twin cam 96 engine on your '09 is the same as the '07's and '08's so any intake that's meant for dyna's of recent years will do!
To clarify...you are not changing your intake (air-flow-meter, throttle body, etc.) you are changing your air filter. Not sure why that's such a popular mod, unless it's just for looks. The stock air filter will flow all the air your 96 needs, even at WOT (wide open throttle), regardless of pipes. Remeber, this is now a closed loop EFI system. The computer will mix the air and fuel to the programmed ratio regardless of which air filter and pipes you bolt on.
I went with the big sucker, I dont like the way the SE heavy breather looks. Kinda sticks out like a sore thumb but to each his own. BTW the big sucker is much cheaper than the se and the performance is the same.
09 fat bob, v&h short shots, power commander and bs air cleaner, runs like a raped ape. First time I started her up I amost pissed myself it sounded so good. Sounds the way a Harley should sound. LOUD!
