GREAT work, man! I've never had much love for my rear fender either but didn't know what options I might have. My problem is that I don't have the tools or skills to fabricate anything.

Those both look great. never have liked the look of the fat bob fender. nice problem solving

I think since this thread was started, a few Fat Bob owners have gone with the 2010 Wide Glide fender ... think it works a little better ... still a couple of 'work arounds' but the fender and install kit are a little better solution ....

Looks great, I had always thought the Street Bob fender could be shimmed to fit but had been told that the gaps were too wide.The cut and reworked fender looks cleaner but for the difference in cost I could learn to live with the 1/2" gaps between the fender and the struts.I wonder if that gap could be reduced by running thinner shims and spreading the fender out some? I've never liked the look of Harleys "bobtail" fender but lately it's been growing on me you may actually see one on my Bob one day.
