Default Protac Drivers Backrest installed, very impressed!!!

I received my driver's backrest from Protac (www.protac.net) today. I have been looking for a driver's backrest solution without having to change my seat as I'm quite happy with the Sundowner seat, and a new seat plus backrest costs quite a bit. I was pointed towards Protac by another member on this forum. I called, spoke to Rick and ordered my backrest. He asked me several questions about my bike, my height, and my preference in upholstery. I ordered a smooth pad, and since I'm 6'6" he said he'd be bending the bars on the backrest back some to give me some more room. Good thing, because I also wear a jacket with back armor, so I need all the room I can get. He also assured me that if I didn't like the way it fit, he'd make it right. Excellent service from these guys.

Installing the backrest is nothing more than removing the front fender strut bolts, installing the brackets and replacing the bolts. I also use those bolts for my saddlebags, and I was a bit concerned about that, but it was no issue. Everything fit just fine, and the saddlebags conceal the backrest when it's not installed. The backrest is a very tight fit into the brackets, so there's no risk of it shifting or anything like that.

Naturally the weather is sh!tty here so I can't test ride it yet, but it sure feels nice sitting in my garage. The price was $140 to my door. I'm very impressed with the service and the craftsmanship. Highly recommended.

Pics, excuse the mess around the bike, I've been trying different packing strategies for my trip to the Dragon's Tail in May

I really like mine, best money I've spent so far.

Big thanks on the recommendation. It's exactly what I was hoping to find for my Dyna.
