I have a set of throwover bags too for the full blown "family bike" but I have to figure out how to modify them to fit with the detachable backrest.
I usually throw the saddle bags on under the seat and then put the detachable backrest on. It's not a great solution to the problem but it works. The only downside is there is no removing the saddlebags unless you take off the back rest and seat first.

I'm still considering the detachable front shade too...
The problem I have is when I try to put the bag straps under the detachable plates there is not room between the detachable sideplates and the fender sideplates, without bending something. If I put them over the plates the strap is too wide and the bags hang at a funny angle and they stick out in the back. What I was planning on doing was cutting the leather strap right where the detachable upright is hitting and hope for the best. Any other suggestions????
